01 - First Blog

Published

Aloha readers,

The purpose is to begin publishing the first blog and provide expectations of future blog posts.

The expectations will include blogs on thoughtful feedback to various free and paid training courses from specific vendors, lessons learned in-between project developments, helpful tips and tricks, and notable take-aways from personal and professional experiences. More importantly, one: a caveat is not disclosing sensitive information from professional enviroments due to signed Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), and two: not disclosing names of individuals that are/were affiliated without consent.

The blogs may be lengthy with a less formal tone without getting too deep-into-the-weeds nor getting lost-in-the-ether. Anything that will go from soup-to-nuts will mainly be areas focused on Research, CTF Write-ups, and Project Developments. There’s definitely much I would like to pour from my thoughts and experiences into writing which I find to be helpful leading to self-discovery. An interesting quote that I stumbled upon and find encouraging by Joan Didion:

"I write entirely to find out what is on my mind, what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I'm seeing, and what it means."

Also, for those who are reading and perhaps wondered, “what the heck is a PAC-443?”

Even if that’s not the case, I’ll still tell ya…

The first three bytes within the string is short for Pacific as I originated from the Pacific Islands unless I take a geneology test and find out I identify as something else… and the last 3 bytes, after a byte_jump, indicates Network Analyst Work Role Code but unofficial to my actual professional work role. Funzies aside, the name was thought of by me as a humble reminder of remembering my identity and place of origin along with the cultural values developed while venturing forward into the unknown. A particular line that resonates is referenced from one of my favorite films, The Last Samurai (2003), where General Katsumoto recites what is engraved on the Katana to Nathan Algran:

"I belong to the warrior in whom the old ways have joined the new."

To those whom are reading this and will continue to review future content that’s published and or referenced on this website, I hope you find some of them helpful, educative, and perhaps amusing.

Mahalo,
PAC-443
